Magnolia Memoirs by Arch Pitts

FIRST OF SERIES
An alumnus of East Mississippi Junior College, Arch Pitts grew up in Mississippi and it’s reflected in most of his paintings. His distinctive style and choice of subjects allow a glimpse of the beauty and serenity of Mississippi’s heritage – old barns, rural churches and country scenes that are rapidly disappearing. The first painting in the Magnolia Memoirs series is “The Brodnax Barn.” It is a good example of Pitts’ commitment to capturing our rural legacy. The Brodnax Barn stood for more than 80 years; it was destroyed in August 2005 as the remnants of Hurricane Katrina swept through the state.
